Welcome to day four of 30 Ways in 30 Days to Find Your Peak. I am glad you are still sticking around. If you are just getting started, I suggest you go back and review the previous posts in the series here.
Eat Breakfast
I am really not a breakfast eater. I normally would either skip breakfast entirely, or eat it a couple hours after I get up. So why am I telling you that you should eat breakfast?
Even though it is not ingrained as a habit for me as of yet (still working on that one), the times when I have followed this advice I have quickly reaped the benefits.
First, when you eat breakfast first thing in the morning, you tend to eat less throughout the day. It helps to curb cravings, and it is easier to stick to a proper diet the rest of the day.
Second, studies show that eating breakfast jump starts your metabolism resulting in more calorie burn which subsequently helps weight loss. Having that extra energy in the morning doesn’t hurt either!
In the past I have went through several periods where I ate breakfast religiously when I was on one workout program or the other, and I have always seen benefits while doing so. I also saw those benefits fall off once I stopped eating breakfast everyday.
Action Steps
Another short one today, so not much to do as far as action steps.
Try it out, commit to eating breakfast within an hour of waking up each morning. It doesn’t take long to notice that you have more energy throughout the day, and that you have less hunger pains as well.
By the way, make sure you eat a healthy breakfast, don’t just grab a donut on the way to work!

Hey Sean,
Been away a few days and look what I’m missing. I will have to go back and read the ones I’ve missed. I never liked eating breakfast, but too many studies point to the same thing: Eat breakfast! I try to have a protein source and a piece of fruit within 20 minutes of waking. It also keeps me from hitting an afternoon lull.
I know these 30 took a lot of work and we thank you for the effort.
They will empower any who read.
Live it LOUD!

Thanks for the comment Rob!
Yes, they have been a lot of work, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. I hope people are able to get some results from following the suggestions!
granola and soy every morning, with a fruit smoothie. Gives me the energy I need to start my day and tastes great.
