Did you go to college?
If you did, it was probably a pretty unremarkable experience. Sure, you gained knowledge, met life long friends, and maybe had the time of your life, but what else?
Did your college have a free steakhouse? No?
Did they give you free ice cream everyday and free drinks? No?
Did you have access to a concierge? No?
Well they do at Highpoint University. All of this and more are because of one man, Nido Qubein. Nido is the president of Highpoint University, and when he got the position, he appointed a Director of WOW. (If you do not know Nido, you can check him out here and here.)
This position is in charge of creating WOW experiences for the students, some of which are listed above. While these are not hugely expensive things, they add that WOW factor for the students. They allow the students to focus more on their studies.
J.T. Foxx is a coaching student of Nido’s, and he has done the same thing in his business. One time he was holding a mastermind for his own coaching students, and completely out of the blue, he took them all to watch the Laker’s in his own private suite. WOW. Did this really cost him extra? No, he had already paid for the suite. Did it make an impression on his students? You bet it did!
Creating a WOW experience for your clients does not have to be expensive to provide a huge benefit. Maybe you send a copy of a report that you normally sell on your site free to you list unexpectedly. That could be a WOW experience. Find out the birthday of your clients and give them a call or send them a gift (don’t just email, everyone does that these days).
WOW.
If you do these little things for your clients, they are going to tell their friends, and their friends are going to say “WOW, my <plumber, coach, accountant, etc.> doesn’t do that for me, give me his number.” Then you make more money!
Customer service is very lacking in today’s business environment, so any little thing that you can do to stand out will benefit your business greatly. So appoint your Director of WOW today, and watch your future sales make you say WOW!
What are some of your ideas for WOW experiences? Share some of them in the comments so we can all benefit from each others ideas!
